I grew up in Melbourne, lived in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, before choosing to settle in Camberwell with my family for its excellent schooling and lifestyle.
I’m passionate about our area and supporting local communities. I started the community campaign to restore historic parkland in Camberwell Junction originally established in 1869 by the Governor of Victoria, and now used by Council as a staff carpark – a campaign that has been supported by many local schools and community organisations as well as the National Trust. I have also researched, written and presented on the history of green open space for the Camberwell Historical Society, of which I am a member.
Our local sporting clubs are part of the fabric that brings our community together and provide opportunities for our children to be healthy and active. I encourage my kids to participate and actively contribute by volunteering with local football, soccer and athletics clubs.
My children attend Camberwell Primary. I lead the Futures Committee on School Council, this year securing additional outdoor recreation space from the State Government and obtaining Council agreement for road safety improvements for our children.
See what people in our community are saying about me and what people who I have worked with are saying about my professional experience and ability to get things done.
I know what can and should be achieved by Council and how to do it. Our Council can do better. I want to use my skills tirelessly for the residents of Gardiner Ward and Boroondara.
In Sydney, I was Chief of Staff to Lord Mayor Lucy Turnbull, Director of Services Quality and Director of Transport and Major Projects. I introduced a network of safe cycleways, expanded the street tree planting program, and created new parks and foreshore pedestrian paths.
In Brisbane, I headed the transport and traffic department, introducing a rapid transit bus service and improving recreational paths along the river to provide safer pedestrian and cycling options.
I’m a problem solver, with an MBA from UNSW/University of Sydney, a BA(Hons) from Melbourne University and a Graduate Diploma in Economics from Monash.
Some candidates at this election claim to be independent, but are members of political parties. I am not a member of any political party. My loyalty is to our community.
